Upstream Provider Maintenance Status: Resolved
Priority - Critical Affecting Other - Ashville, NC Data Center

On Sunday, August 2, 2009 at 00:01 AM through to 06:00 AM Eastern, our upstream network provider will be migrating Internet connections from their current distribution routers to our new routers in order to take advantage of our new multi-10 Gigabit distribution infrastructure. This upgrade has been implemented in order to natively support 10 Gigabit and Cisco VSS 1440. While they will continue using the Cisco Catalyst 6500 series routers, their current infrastructure consists of multiple Gigabit links in an Etherchannel which has proven to be periodically unreliable and problematic and is limited to 8 gbps of distribution capacity.

While the maintenance window they have requested for this task is 6 hours in length, the actual downtime you will experience during the VLAN migration will be no more than 10 minutes. All VLANs will be migrated one by one and tested after migration.

While we have taken every precaution to minimize complications during this event, there exists a certain amount of risk and the possibility of extended service disruption.

We are committed to providing the highest possible level of service; therefore, we strive to increase client satisfaction and productivity through our proactive approach to customer notification. If you have questions or concerns in advance of this event, please contact the NOC at 800-516-0992.
